Program Description

Courses
SPAN 150 OR SPAN 210
and SPAN 218

Spanish majors/minors must have taken two semesters of Intermediate Spanish (151-152) or the equivalent. Additionally, all participants must attend pre-departure meetings with the instructor during the Spring semester.

This May Term program offers total immersion to Spanish language and culture in the historical city of Salamanca.

Students will receive formal intense classroom instruction for three full weeks, while living with Spanish host families during their stay in "The Golden City." As part of the courses, there will be weekend excursions to cities such as Madrid, Avila, and Segovia, where students will have the opportunity to visit museums, and historical buildings, as well as other important landmarks. Additionally, they will be able to visit the oldest university in Spain, stroll along the Tormes River, or take part in multiple cultural events throughout the city.

Students can earn up to six credit hours by enrolling in SPAN 218 and SPAN 150 or SPAN 210.
